Full Job Description
Suntomine is searching for a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design, hands-on prototyping, and industrialization of battery modules/packs, BMS hardware, and power electronics (inverters & DC/DC converters). This is a senior R&D product-design role requiring deep cell-level qualification expertise—not a maintenance, sales, or integration position.
Key Responsibilities
- Cell & Module Engineering: Lead cell selection, performance/aging qualification, module architecture, and hands-on assembly/testing of physical prototypes;
- BMS Hardware Design: Own system architecture, AFE sensing, active/passive balancing, protection chains, HV isolation, and CAN/RS485/Ethernet interfaces;
- Power Electronics & PCB: Design high-voltage (48V to 800V+) inverters and DC/DC converters; execute schematic capture and multilayer PCB layouts in Altium Designer;
- Verification & Compliance: Perform SPICE/thermal analyses, prototype bring-up, EMC testing, and ensure adherence to DFM/DFT and IEC/UL/UN standards.
Mandatory Requirements
- Education & Experience: Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical Engineering (or similar) with 7+ years of hands-on hardware design experience;
- Production Track Record: Proven ownership of at least one battery module, BMS, inverter, or converter design taken from prototype to series production;
- Prototyping Ability: Practical capability to physically assemble, wire, bring up, and troubleshoot battery module prototypes;
- Technical Mastery: Advanced skills in Altium Designer, SPICE simulation, EMC mitigation, and Li-ion/LiFePO4 cell qualification;
- Professional License (Must hold at least one): Serbia: EP 05-02a; Brčko District (BiH): LBD-B9; United States: Active Professional Engineer (PE) License;
- Language: Professional technical fluency in written and spoken English.
